What We Believe

About God

• There is one true God. He is almighty and eternal.(Genesis 1:1)
• God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each with distinct personal attributes, yet one in divine nature. (Genesis 1; John 14; Ephesians 1)
• Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100% Man, having been born to the virgin Mary. His death on the cross and resurrection is the only sufficient sacrifice for man’s sin and atonement to the Father. (John 1:1-5; 12-14)
• The Holy Spirit is God who lives within the Christian upon belief in Christ to comfort, convict, and compel him to holiness and service. (Ephesians 1:13-14; John 14:16-17)

About the Bible

• The Holy Bible is divinely inspired by God and infallible. It is the perfect treasure of heavenly instruction. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
• The Bible tells the story of God’s love for man, man’s disobedience, and God’s eternal redemption of man starting with the beginning of time until the end of time.

About You and I

• God created man perfectly in His image. (Genesis 1:26)
• Man has sinned by our own choice, having fallen from God’s perfect standard. This sin separates mankind from God and results in spiritual death. (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23)
• Jesus provided for our sin to be covered and forgiven by his death on the cross, and subsequent resurrection. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
• One cannot be saved by his or her own merits. People must individually place their faith in Jesus Christ to receive the gift of salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
• All who trust Jesus Christ for salvation are eternally secure in Him and shall not experience ultimate spiritual death.(John 3:16)

About Church

• Jesus established the church to be the vehicle for the gospel to spread throughout the world. (Matthew 28:19-20)
• God established the local church for Christians to live within Biblical community for Biblical instruction, growth in Godliness, and evangelism. (Ephesians 4:11-14)
• We believe that each Christian should be committed to and submitted to a local body of believers. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
• There are two pictorial ordinances in the church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Scriptural baptism is the immersion of repentant believers in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)

About the Future

• The Scriptures clearly teach that Jesus bodily resurrected from the dead. He now exists in His glorified body at the right hand of the Father. (1 Corinthians 15; Luke 22:69; Hebrews 10:11-14)
• In the imminent future, Jesus will return to receive His people to Himself. At this point, there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. The bodies of the righteous will conform to the glorified body of Christ and live eternally with the Father. (Matthew 28:1-10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) The bodies wicked will be sentenced to eternal separation from God.
