Pastor Bobby Manning proudly serves as the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of District Heights.

In response to an early call to ministry, Pastor Manning immediately sought out the necessary training to sharpen his ministerial gifting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in Religion/Christian Ministry from Campbell University and a Master of Theology degree (Th.M.) from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Pastor Manning is currently a doctoral student at Regent University, working toward his Doctor of Ministry degree (D.Min).

Pastor Manning was licensed to the gospel ministry at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) by his mentor and spiritual covering, Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr. While at FBCG, he served as Special Assistant to the Pastor and Young-Adult Pastor.

Pastor Manning’s ministry extends well beyond District Heights. God has allowed Pastor Manning’s preaching ministry to extend across the U.S. and overseas. He has also served in leadership of several para-church ministries and community organizations. His anointed leadership has brought several honors and recognitions.

Such honors include being inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa Society, which recognizes superior leaders in scholastic, social and religious affairs; as well as receiving the Ruben S. Connor Award from Dallas Seminary, which recognizes the student with superior study of and ministry to the African-American community. He is also an adjunct professor at Washington Bible College.

Pastor Manning is a native of the Washington, D.C. area where he and his wife LaVera currently reside with their two sons Levi and Reuben.
